AMC’s acclaimed spin-off The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has found a powerful new landscape for its latest chapter — the rugged and cinematic coast of Galicia, Spain.
After two seasons based in France, the production for Season 3 shifted to Spain, with Galicia featured alongside regions such as Aragón, Catalonia, and Valencia. According to AMC Networks, the series expanded its visual scope through “extensive location shooting” across the country to capture a broader sense of Europe’s post-apocalyptic world.
In Galicia, filming took place at several iconic coastal sites along the Costa da Morte, including Playa A Boca do Río in Carnota, Faro de Punta Nariga, and the towns of Corme and Cee. The area’s stark cliffs, storm-swept beaches, and atmospheric lighthouses provided the perfect setting for the series’ tone of survival and solitude.
Local media reports confirm that AMC plans to return to Galicia for the fourth and final season, reaffirming the region’s role as one of Europe’s most visually distinctive filming destinations.
With its dramatic Atlantic light and natural sense of isolation, Galicia has become more than a backdrop — it’s a character in its own right, enriching Daryl Dixon with both realism and mythic scale.
