Fervenza de Augacaida

Hike to Fervenza de Augacaída

While visiting Galicia, I decided to hike to the Fervenza de Augacaída, a beautiful waterfall near Pantón, hidden in the forest.

The trail starts gently, heading downhill through chestnut trees and lush greenery. The path is narrow but easy to follow, and the sound of the waterfall becomes louder as you descend. After about 30 minutes, you reach the waterfall: a tall, powerful stream cascading down a rocky cliff into a shaded pool. It's not crowded, and the peaceful surroundings make it feel like a hidden gem.

Spending time at the base of the falls is relaxing—perfect for a break or a picnic. But the way back up is more challenging. The climb is steady and can be tiring, especially in warm weather or if the trail is muddy. Good footwear is a must.

Still, the effort is worth it. The Fervenza de Augacaída offers a short but rewarding hike with a real sense of discovery.
