Back in the Netherlands

It took some getting used to after we landed in Eindhoven and drove back up north. The highway felt so busy, almost chaotic. Suddenly, the Netherlands seemed like one big industrial zone, especially in contrast to Galicia, where we spent the past month. There, we could drive for miles without seeing another soul—just nature all around us. A completely different world, yet only a few hours away by plane.

I have to admit, the peace and quiet of Galicia settled in quickly. I had every intention of holding on to that sense of calm once we got back. But somehow, the moment you return to work, that calm slips away just as fast as it came.

So now what? We have a house in Galicia and, truth be told, we want to go back as soon as we can. But we also have a home here in the Netherlands, which we’re now seeing through very different eyes. It’s time to start thinking carefully about what we want for the future.

Luckily, our neighbors in Galicia are keeping an eye on things for us. If anything happens with the house, they’ll let us know. In the meantime, the neighbor’s cows are making good use of the tall grass on our land—which makes us smile.

We’ll be heading back soon. Tickets are booked, rental car arranged, and this time, we’ve decided to really treat it as a holiday. We want to properly explore the area, go on fun day trips, and just enjoy ourselves for a while.
