We’re a Dutch couple, and since early 2026 we live in rural Galicia, in the north-west corner of Spain. BeautifulGalicia is where we write about what we find here — the practical side of moving here, the daily life, the outdoors, the things that aren’t always easy to find in English.

We’ve only been here a few months. We’re not experts on Galicia, and we won’t pretend to be. What we can offer is a close look at what it’s actually like to build a life here, written as we go.

This site started as a personal blog, in Dutch, for family and friends following our move. As more people from outside the Netherlands started asking us questions about Galicia, we decided to turn it into something more useful — a general resource, in English, for anyone thinking about moving here, visiting, or simply curious about this part of Spain.

We don’t use personal photos on this site. What we do share is a lot of drone footage of the landscape around us that’s often a better way to show this place than a photo of us standing in it.
